Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients?

Answer:

Our most common jobs are weddings. People request HD Airbrush Makeup and Hair Styling for weddings more than anything else. We also get a lot of bridal shower appointments, birthdays and photo shoots.

 

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

Answer:

You should feel 110% for your wedding day or special event. If you get a trial and are not completely satisfied, try another artist (whether it’s the same company or different). Every artist has a different style of artistry and communication. Sometimes it’s just about finding that person that suits your style. Don’t be afraid to get a second trial because at the end of the day, you want to feel beyond beautiful. When the photographers and videographers are capturing your day, your confidence and excitement will show through those pictures, so make sure you are happy with your trials. Start looking for your beauty company early. The best companies book a year and a half in advance. Running to a salon or studio can be very stressful. Let the professionals come to you. It may cost a little more, but you will thank yourself when you cut out all the running around, the traffic, the parking, and the constant clock watching. We never feel like we are working when we arrive at a location to get a large bridal party ready, and everyone is laughing, making conversation and listening to their favorite playlist. Make sure to have fun!

 

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

Answer:

The Makeup Artists at 217 Beauty by Liz Gizelle have lots of education and experience that many other companies do not have. There are certain ingredients that you should avoid in Foundations in order to have the face photograph well. For example, certain ingredients reflect light, causing the face to look lighter than the rest of the body in pictures. We make sure to research our products to avoid these issues. Our products have also been put to the test, which means that if we do your makeup at 5am, your makeup will still look amazing at the end of the night. Team 217 also offers makeup trials. We take the time at your makeup trial to make sure that you are completely happy with your look. There should be no surprises on your wedding day. Team 217 only uses the best of the best when it comes to hair stylists. Not only do these ladies all have over 10 years experience, they all specialize in Wedding and Photo Shoot Hair Styling. Many clients do not realize, that not all stylists at a salon like doing up-dos or bridal styling. On top of that, these stylists (not all of course), spend most of their day cutting, dying, hilighting, etc. Team 217 Hair Stylists spend their days styling for photo shoots, doing bridal trials, and styling anywhere from 3 to 12 women attending weddings in one day. This is what they do all weekend long. This is their specialty. We also offer Hair Trials. Again, we make sure the bride is completely satisfied with the hair style before the wedding day. This ensures there are no surprises for the wedding day.

 

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

Answer:

1. How long have you been doing makeup/hair? 2. What type of education/experience do you have? 3. Do you have before and after pictures of makeup? 4. Do you have pictures of hair styles you have done? 5. If there is some type of emergency (God forbid you are hospitalized), is there someone that can take over for hair or makekup? 6. Do you have a contract? 7. Do you have touch-up lip products for sale on the day of the event?

 

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

Answer:

1. Do you want professional beauty services brought to your door step for your special event? 2. If you are getting married, will you be paying for your entire bridal party or do you want the bridal party to pay for themselves? 3. Have an idea of what you want your hair and makeup to look like. Bring a picture of the dress is helpful for the hair and makeup artist. 4. Whether or not the bride/bridal party wants VIP Services on the day of the wedding. VIP Services: One of the artists stays with the bridal party for an hourly fee to touch everyone up and make sure that everyone is camera ready all day long.

 

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

Answer:

We absolutely love what we do!

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

Answer:

I (Liz Gizelle Rodriguez) had a very shy bride that came in to get a makeup trial. She told me that she didn’t feel beautiful and you could tell that she was not happy with the way that she looked. I asked her a lot of questions and did my best to create a beautiful look for her. At the end of the trial, she walks over to the mirror and starts crying. For a moment, I felt horrible. Immediately, I say to her, “I can change it, it’s just make-up. Let me know what you don’t like.” She replies, “I have never felt so beautiful in my entire life!” I couldn’t help but cry with her, except that I had a smile from ear-to-ear. I love what I do, but even more I love to help people. Needless to say, she booked 217 Beauty for her wedding. It’s the little things! =)

 

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

Answer:

There are makeup artists and hair stylists everywhere. Many of them have very low prices. For as much as I would love to charge clients less, you definitely get what you pay for. We only use the best products and never products that we haven’t put to the test before using them on clients.

 

Q. What is your greatest strength?

Answer:

I have mastered my craft, so I am very confident in what I do. I only employ artists that are at the same level, even if their style is a little/very different. Because of this confidence, we know that we can handle any situation or mishap. This usually creates a relaxing atmosphere for our clients that they tend to be very grateful for.
